Why we love it:Although gladioli have a reputation for being old fashioned, they are undergoing a revival. They can make stunning late summer statements and are invaluable for using in flower arrangements. Gladiolus Greenstar is a traditional tall gladiolus with beautiful, green flowers of a good size It gives a strong contrast when planted with darker coloured dahlias and is simply one of the best green gladiolus you can grow Strong arrow like foliage gives structure to borders during the growing season, while late summer spikes offer excellent border colour and cut flower material So easy to grow. Simply plant, sit back and watch through the season. Although it's a tender perennial, you should be able to leave it outdoors in town & sheltered gardens with nothing more than a mulch
What you need to know: 1 x Gladiolus Greenstar (Pack of 10) Each packet contains 10 corms Corm size: 12 - 14cm Wait until March to plant up when the worst frosts are over Plant Type: Tender Perennial Flowers: Acid green July - September Approx Height when mature: 100cm Position in the Garden: Full sun, in borders, may need staking. For best results plant in batches of 5 culms to create bold blocks. Plant every couple of weeks for a long display Soil Type: Moist, fertile but free-draining. Not heavy clay Hardiness: Frost-hardy. In mild areas with free-draining soil, Gladioli can be left to overwinter in the ground or pots, but in colder areas lift and store to protect them from the worst winter weather. Lift once the foliage has died back, discard old corms and keep new corms in a frost-free location such as the garage In milder areas where there's little risk of continuous frosty periods, or in sheltered urban gardens with the added protection of walls, simply leave over winter with good mulch of compost or bark
