Why we love it:
  • Anyone for plum crumble? Now you can grow and eat your own with this top quality Plum (Prunus) Victoria tree from top nursery Frank Matthews
  • This popular Victoria Plum tree will produce a fantastic bumper crop of sweet and tasty plums which are excellent for cooking, jam making and desserts
  • In fact you'll need to pick over your Victoria plum at the fruitlet stage, removing every other plum, otherwise the load may be too heavy for your tree to bear
  • The Victoria Plum we have chosen for you has been locally grown in the rich and fertile Herefordshire soil. It is really easy to grow. Simply plant in full sun and out of cold winter winds
  • And because these plum trees are self pollinating, you only need one tree

  • On arrival, it is important that your tree is well watered and planted within 24 hours
  • To plant, dig a hole which is approximately one and a half times as wide and deep as the pot your tree has arrived in. Add as much organic material as possible (such as homemade compost or farmyard manure). NB: Don't add any fertiliser to the soil at time of planting as it may burn the roots and it will encourage tree growth at the expense of fruit growth
  • Place the tree in the hole and cover the roots with soil up to the surrounding ground level. The tree should be planted to the same depth as it was in the pot (or the soil mark on the trunk in the case of bare-rooted trees)
  • Water well in dry conditions
