The safety of our customers and colleagues are at the centre of our new operating plan and a series of new social distancing and health and safety measures have been put in place prior to welcoming customers to our award-winning garden centres.

Head of Operations, Nick Baker, says “we have reopened our garden centres to help our customers repair, improve and maintain their homes and gardens while staying at home - as well as shop from our local foodhall. It is important to us that our customers feel safe when they shop with us, so prior to making a trip, our customers will need to understand our new COVID-19 health and safety policy and our temporary store opening times”.

The new health and safety measures include:

  • Customer numbers will be limited to stores at any one time and will be managed at entrance points and car parks. This may result in customers having to queue externally to gain entrance to the stores at certain times of day.

  • We have now lifted our 2 people per household limit but please remain sensible and respect social distancing from our other customers.

  • All customers and colleagues should try to keep 2 metres apart. New signs and floor markings are in place to help.

  • Antibacterial stations and trolley/basket cleaning points will be provided at store entrances and throughout the stores.

  • All customer tills have been fitted with Perspex screens to protect customers and colleagues.

  • Contactless payment limits have been increased and all transactions should be paid for by chip and pin or contactless whenever possible.

Most gardening and home items are available in-store; however, some restrictions are in place to adhere to government guidelines. This includes the closure of restaurants and cafes. Our Grab and Go counter in our Wychbold garden centre is available for hot and cold drinks, cakes, sandwiches and takeaway afternoon tea.

Edward Webb, owner and Chairman, says ‘"we know that spending time in our gardens is good for our physical and mental wellbeing, and we welcome the opportunity to once again open our doors to our customers and colleagues in as safe and welcoming environment as possible."

Our new opening times for Wychbold (open from Thursday 14th May), Hagley and Cheltenham (both open from Wednesday 13th May) are:
Monday - Saturday: 10am - 6pm.
Sunday: 10.30am - 5pm.
Please note, we have temporarily stopped our Sunday browsing time between 10am - 10.30am.

Our restaurants are reopening from Saturday 11th July. For more information about opening dates, times, menus and our safety measures for Wychbold, Hagley and Cheltenham, then please click on this page. https://www.webbsdirect.co.uk/food/
