We will be reopening our stores in West Hagley and Cheltenham from Wednesday 13th May and our store at Wychbold from Thursday 14th May, following today’s clarification from UK Government.
The safety of our customers and colleagues are at the centre of our new operating plan and a series of new social distancing and health and safety measures have been put in place prior to welcoming customers to our award-winning garden centres.
Head of Operations, Nick Baker, says “we are reopening our stores to help our customers repair, improve and maintain their homes and gardens while staying at home - as well as shop from our local foodhall. It is important to us that our customers feel safe when they shop with us, so prior to making a trip, our customers will need to understand our new COVID-19 health and safety policy and our temporary store opening times”.
The new health and safety measures include:
Customer numbers will be limited to stores at any one time and will be managed at entrance points and car parks. This may result in customers having to queue externally to gain entrance to the stores at certain times of day.
No groups of more than 2 people per visit, including children. However, if you have a baby or young child in a pushchair or sling then this is also allowed in addition to your 2 people per household limit.
All customers and colleagues must always keep 2 metres apart. New signs and floor markings are in place to help.
Antibacterial stations and trolley/basket cleaning points will be provided at store entrances and throughout the stores.
All customer tills have been fitted with Perspex screens to protect customers and colleagues.
Contactless payment limits have been increased and all transactions should be paid for by chip and pin or contactless whenever possible.
Most gardening and home items are available in-store; however, some restrictions are in place to adhere to government guidelines. This includes the closure of restaurants, cafés, and clothing departments.
Edward Webb, owner and Chairman, warmly welcomes today’s announcement and says ‘"we know that spending time in our gardens is good for our physical and mental wellbeing, and we welcome the opportunity to once again open our doors to our customers and colleagues in as safe and welcoming environment as possible. That is why we have decided to delay the opening of our larger store at Wychbold to Thursday 14th May”.
Our new opening times for Wychbold (open from Thursday 14th May), Hagley and Cheltenham (both open from Wednesday 13th May) are:
Monday - Saturday: 10am - 6pm.
Sunday: 10.30am - 5pm.
Please note, we have temporarily stopped our Sunday browsing time between 10am - 10.30am.
Thank you for your patience and loyal custom.
From all of our extended family at Webbs Garden Centres.
