NEW for Halloween 2024: Dare to enter Hagley's Haunted House and encounter the restless spirits of the area's dark past!

Who will you be spooked by?!
Lord Lyttleton's wicked phantom in the cobwebby bed chamber...?
Bella, the Wych Elm ghost, wandering the corridors...?
OR ANOTHER SPOOKY GHOUL OR WITCH?

If you make it outside (!), explore the overgrown graveyard filled with eerie shadows and mysterious fog. But BEWARE! In-land piracy was once common in these 'ere parts and in a hidden corner of the garden, the skeleton-pirate crew that once worked the Stourbridge canal keep a watchful eye over their shiny gold coins and sparkling jewels. Can you sneak past without getting caught, or will you join their ranks as a ghostly pirate forever?

Finally, choose your own pumpkin from the grounds of The Haunted House, carve it and take it home to scare away the Ghouls of Halloween!

Costumes are encouraged if you want to blend in!

FAQs

Where is Hagley's Haunted House?
Webbs West Hagley, Kidderminster Road South, Hagley, Stourbridge, DY9 0JB
The trail takes place in the outdoor plant area in the old aquatics building, new courtyard and secret garden which has been decorated for the occasion!

What age is it suitable for?

We are aiming for this to appeal to primary school children up to around age 12. If your child is easily spooked however...

What does the haunted house include?
The haunted house takes you from a ghostly hallway, to Lord Lyttelton's bed chamber and privvy (that's toilet to you and me), into a witches' kitchen and then outside onto the witches' decking. We have two actors - Lord Lyttelton and a Wicked Witch. You're then in a large courtyard where a skeleton pirate crew lurk, complete with treasure chests and bow of boat...here you choose your own pumpkin and there may be time for a spot of pumpkin bowling...before going through to the secret garden (undercover in a decorated marquee) to carve your pumpkin...(you can also carve your pumpkin inside next to the restaurant where we usually hold pumpkin carving...) On your way out of the secret garden, you'll encounter a spooky graveyard full of the ghosts of times past...There may also be a couple of other surprises thrown in...if we can pull them off!

How big are the pumpkins?

15-20cm, which is the perfect primary age size! We also provide stencils, carving equipment and cut the tops off for you...

Is the trail undercover?
Most of the trail is undercover except for the PYO courtyard and graveyard scenes. We recommend wrapping up warm!

Where are the toilets?

The toilets are inside the store by the restaurant, please use the facilities before heading outside to the plant area and Haunted House as there are no toilets outside.

Is there a restaurant on-site?
Yes we have a restaurant serving a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. For more info see here
