We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced retail Team Leader, with a passion for Food, to join our Food Hall team at our Wychbold store. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent decision-making skills who is confident to drive sales and assist in the smooth running of the department.
Reporting to the Food Hall Manager & Buyer, duties include:

Following training you could work in all areas of the Food Hall which includes our bakery, cheese, deli and gelato counters. You may also work on creating displays and stock replenishment when needed.
Food hygiene knowledge and allergen awareness would be advantageous but mandatory training will be provided as part of our induction programme.
This is a permanent contract. Working 24-30 hours per week including alternative Saturday and Sundays.
The role is based at our store in Wychbold and so living within a reasonable commuting distance is a must.

Hourly rate: £12.50 – £12.80 depending on experience and skill set.

- Motivating and inspiring the team to drive and increase sales.
- Leading the team to ensure that individuals possess a high level of product knowledge, and they perform in an effective and responsible manner in line with company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that the department is always compliant with all Food Health & Safety Practices and Procedures.
- Monitoring allergy information and keeping up to date with allergen awareness training and requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service when serving on our Deli, Cheese, Bakery and Gelato Counters.
- Create inspirational visual merchandising to keep the displays relevant to seasons and events.
- Supervise stock replenishment to ensure products are displayed correctly and to the highest level.
- Support ongoing store communications ensuring team members are aware of current and planned activity, new or amended procedures and newly launched products.
The successful candidates must have:
- Significant experience of leading and motivating a team, monitoring performance and workforce planning
- Strong retail sales experience and great customer service skills.
- Experience of retail sales, preferably handling and selling fresh & ambient food items.
- Experience of monitoring food quality and a basic understanding of good food hygiene practices and allergen awareness.
- Stock merchandising experience to ensure displays are well stocked and inviting.
- Excellent decision making and communication skills.
