Nursery Team Member (Horticultural) – Wychbold

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Nursery team at our Wychbold store, to work closely with the Production Supervisor and team members.
 
This is a varied role.  Duties include weeding, watering and feeding plants, pruning, tidying, operating garden machinery including a tractor (after training and subject to age), potting and despatching plants when required.
 
We are looking for an individual who has relevant experience gained ideally in a nursery/horticultural setting with a basic knowledge of plant growing techniques, care practices, plant identification and pest and disease awareness.
 
You’ll use manual handling, be hard working, positive, flexible and happy to use initiative. You'll enjoy working independently or as part of a small, busy team, using state of the art technology, learning new skills and working at pace to meet deadlines whilst keeping Nursery hygiene and cleanliness in mind.
 
Basic IT and administration skills are required for labelling and stock management processes; full training will be provided.
 
Most importantly, you'll have a real passion for horticulture, ideally supported by a formal horticultural qualification.
 
If you've got the relevant experience and knowledge, then we’d like to hear from you.  Having a PA1/PA6 spraying certificate and a qualified Counterbalance FLT driver would be advantageous.
 
You will be working outdoors in all weathers; sun cream, sunhats and waterproofs will be provided.
 
This is a full time permanent contract. Working 39.5 hours per week.
 
The role is based at our store in Wychbold and so you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Hourly rate: £8.00 to £12.71.  Salary will meet national minimum wage for age.
