Why we love it:
If you want to keep some colour in your garden throughout the bleaker autumn and winter months, then why not plant a Sorbus Joseph Rock?
This stunning ornamental tree will provide you with lemon yellow berries which appear in late autumn
Throughout the rest of the year you can enjoy the blue-green large leaves which turn glorious shades of orange, purple and red in the autumn, and the white flower clusters which appear in spring
Also known as the Mountain Ash, this tree is deciduous and really easy to grow
The Sorbus Joseph Rock we have chosen for you has been locally grown in the rich and fertile Herefordshire soil
What you need to know:
1 x Sorbus Joseph Rock
Size: 12L Pot
Height at point of purchase: approx 6ft (1.8m)
Colour: Yellow berries
Flowers: late autumn-winter
Use: Ornamental
Grown in Herefordshire by Frank Matthews Nursery
Special instructions:
On arrival, it is important that your tree is watered and heeled in or planted within 24 hours
To plant, dig a hole which is approximately one and a half times as wide and deep as the pot your tree has arrived in. Add as much organic material as possible (such as homemade compost or farmyard manure). NB: Don't add any fertiliser to the soil at time of planting as it may burn the roots and it will encourage tree growth at the expense of fruit growth
Place the tree in the hole and cover the roots with soil up to the surrounding ground level. The tree should be planted to the same depth as it was in the pot (or the soil mark on the trunk in the case of bare-rooted trees)
Water well in dry conditions
