Why we love it:
Courgettes and zuchini are great providers of vitamins C & E. Lightly sauteed in lemon or bunged into a stir fry is the ideal way to cook them. In the summer months slice thin longways and marinade with olive oil & fresh oregano before bunging on a barbeque grill for great flavour. If you've still got some left over towards the end of the Summer then courgette is an excellent ingredient for chutnies and relishes
El Greco is one of the best performing courgettes and accordingly extremely popular
Its delicious dark green courgettes crop extremely early and with regular picking will keep going right through the Summer months
What you need to know
Each pack contains approx 20 seeds
Sowing Instructions: Sow April to May. Sow seeds 1cm (½in) deep in 7.5cm (3in) pots of free draining compost. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and place at 20-25C (68-77F) until after germination which takes 7-10 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.
Seeds can also be sown direct outdoors once the soil has warmed. Sow 2 seeds every 60cm (24in) and thin out to the best seedling.
Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost
Harvest July-October (12 weeks maturity). Pick often to ensure continuity.
