Why we love it:
Swiss chard is full of vitamins A & C and fibre. It can be cooked in the same way as spinach and is delicious steamed with a knob of melted butter and some nutmeg
Bright Lights gives a vivid display of coloured stems in classic red, white, pink, violet, green, gold, orange, yellow and some even striped!
The flavour is deliciously mild and packed with nutritlonal content coming to harvest about 60 days after sowing.
Bright Lights looks great planted with other salad leaves in our wicker patio planters
What you need to know:
Each pack contains approx 90 seeds
Sowing instructions: Sow April-May outdoors. (28-32 weeks maturity)
Harvest by picking a few leaves at a time, snapping them off near the base of the plant, from several plants rather than completely stripping one plant
Cropping from mid-summer to late autumn. After a normal winter, it will re-emerge to give an unbelievably early spring crop.
RHS Award of Garden Merit
