Why we love it:It may only flower once a season, but the show that American Pillar Climbing Rose puts on makes it well worth the wait American Pillar is a rambling rose with a single pink flower with white eye which is borne in large clusters and fades to pink/white as it ages It's a very vigorous, tough rambling rose with strong, thorny green stems and many long and slender branches It does have hips but the birds are very fond of them However, it still offers winter colour in the form of purple leaves that hang on for a good while American Pillar flowers somewhat later than most rambling roses It's a fabulous rose for growing through an old tree
