  • It's also really easy to grow as it's frost and disease resistant, and it is an excellent pollinator for other varieties
  • In late springtime your garden will be brought to life with beautiful blossom, and the apples will be ready to pick in October
  • And because it has excellent storing abilities, you can continue to enjoy your Red Falstaffs throughout the winter months

  • On arrival, it is important that your tree is watered and heeled in or planted within 24 hours
  • To plant, dig a hole which is approximately one and a half times as wide and deep as the pot your tree has arrived in. Add as much organic material as possible (such as homemade compost or farmyard manure). NB: Don't add any fertiliser to the soil at time of planting as it may burn the roots and it will encourage tree growth at the expense of fruit growth
  • Place the tree in the hole and cover the roots with soil up to the surrounding ground level. The tree should be planted to the same depth as it was in the pot (or the soil mark on the trunk in the case of bare-rooted trees)
  • Water well in dry conditions
