Description
Why we love it:
  • Just when the dark days of winter seem to be dragging on without end, Camellia Volunteer bursts into bloom
  • Flowering from December to April, its soft pink blooms with white edges darken to pink and red as they age
  • If you don’t have a big garden, Volunteer will grow beautifully in a large container on your patio or doorstep when planted with ericaceous compost


What you need to know:
  • Plant Type: Hardy Evergreen Shrub that keeps its leaves in Winter
  • Flowers: Double pink December to April
  • Approx Max Height: 2m (6ft)
  • Approx Max Width: 1m (3ft)
  • Position: Full sun or partial shade
  • Soil Type: Moisture retentive & acidic


  • Caring for your plant:
    • Plant in ericaceous compost in pots or in a cool spot in a border
    • Water during dry spells
    • Feed in spring with a fertiliser formulated for acid-loving plants such as Sequestrene
