- Why We Love It:
- The "house" Colombian coffee of Darkwoods Coffee since 2018, El Ata (FKA El Jordan) is unique in that it is a single estate that provides “fresh” green coffee all-year round thanks to their ability to produce a smaller fly crop in addition to the main annual harvest
- You'll love the vibrant citrus acidity and caramel sweetness in Driftwood and it’s a coffee that you can return to time after time as the quintessential all-day, everyday brew
- Tasting Notes: Caramel, almond, stone fruit
- Darkwoods Coffee favour natural processed coffees for the blend (where the whole fruit is dried before the beans are separated), as they add sweetness and body to balance the brighter fruit forward and slightly funky flavours
- Driftwood was designed as a filter coffee but as a single specialty Colombian, suits a bright fruity espresso too
- Compostable bag
What You Need To Know:
- 1 x Darkwoods Coffee Driftwood Whole Coffee Beans (250g)
- Type: Whole beans
- Country: El Ata, Tolima, Colombia
- Variety: Fully Washed
- Process: Washed - Clean & bright
- Altitude: 1650-1900m
- Roast: Light-medium 2
- As a lighter espresso, we would probably start with a reasonably high dose (18g, but whatever suits your machine best), and work on a 1:2.5 ratio, making a balanced espresso weighing about 45g or shoot it shorter if you prefer a richer body and more intense acidity
- For filter, we recommend using 60g per litre of water - it’s the industry standard for a reason, delivering a balanced flavour with most coffees
