- Galanthus ikariae originates from the Greek islands in the Aegean sea and is named after Icarus for the wing-shaped green markings on the petals, which are sometimes also likened to a horseshoe mark
- More rare than the common snowdrop, Galanthus Nivalus, Galanthus ikariae is perfect for naturalising in woodland and under trees in dappled shade
- Although they may take a little time to establish, over two to five years, these snowdrops will spread, so plant them in clumps for best effect
