Responsibilities include:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the toy department team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.
- Drive departmental sales and ensure profitability by analysing performance data and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Oversee stock levels, manage replenishment, and coordinate with suppliers or central teams to ensure availability of key products, especially during peak seasons.
- Ensure the department is visually appealing, well-organised, and aligned with brand and promotional guidelines to enhance the customer experience.
- Create a welcoming and engaging environment for customers, responding to enquiries and resolving issues effectively.
- Manage the toy department’s budget, including sales forecasting, expense control, and contributing to wider store financial targets.
- Plan and execute in-store promotions, product launches, and seasonal events (e.g., Christmas toy sections) to maximise footfall and sales.
- Proven retail experience in a supervisory or management role within a fast-paced setting, preferably in toys, gifts, or family retail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of driving sales performance through effective stock management, promotional activity, and customer engagement.
- Hands-on experience in merchandising products to maximise impact and align with brand and marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with managing departmental budgets, controlling costs, and interpreting sales data to make informed decisions.
The role is based at our store in Wychbold and so you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
