Why we love it:

Leptospermum martinii hails from Australia and New Zealand and has the added benefits of compact evergreen foliage with dazzling exotic pink flowers in the Summer

Really suited to gardens that are sheltered from the worst frosts in ground that is very free-draining. Alternatively grow in a pot on a patio in a mixture of John Innes No 3 & multipurpose compost

What you need to know:

Plant Type: Tender Evergreen Shrub that keeps its leaves in winter

Flowers: Carmine pink in May and June

Height after 4 years: 2m [6ft]

Width after 4 years: 1m [3ft]

Position: Sun or partial shade

Soil: Must be free draining

Caring for your plant:

Little or no aftercare required

Lightly prune to shape after flowering

Protect with fleece during periods of prolonged frost
