- A compact and evergreen shrub, it's particularly good for autumn and winter interest as it flowers into October, followed by spherical, blue berries that will attract birds to the garden during the colder months
- Its fragrant golden flower spikes are very attractive and this is a lovely spine free mahonia which is compact enough to be grown in large patio pots
