Why we love it:Glaucous blue foliage, with bold full flowers in rich crimson from mid Spring. Sometimes we even had this beauty flowering through the Winter on the nursery Compact variety suitable for patio pots and the front of borders. Masses of scented flowers, and a long flowering period, if the plants are regularly dead headed. Dianthus ‘Passion’ was bred by specialist breeder of Dianthus, John Whetman, of Whetman Pinks, and met the high standards or scent, hardiness, blue foliage and compact habit. It was first introduced in 2007

Caring for your plant: Dead-head regularly to ensure long flowering period. If planting in a container, which we definately recommend, use a 50/50 mix of multi-purpose compost and John Innes no 3. A slow-release fertiliser from early Spring will definately help in the second year. Ensure plants don't dry out in pots during dry spells.
