Lupin 'Terracotta' is a super terracotta orange flowering form of the excellent new West Country Lupins range. The greatest breakthrough in lupin breeding for some time - we think so! Read more
IMPORTANT - Please note this perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, with fresh new growth appearing again in spring
Description
Why we love it:
  • Lupin 'Terracotta' is an excellent bold form of the traditional lupin with superb upright flower stems or terracotta orange that so far don't seem to need staking in our beds
  • You'll love this variety for serious flower power. Those flower stems just keep coming through the season and regular deadheading and winter mulching will also lengthen the flowering period
  • Introduced by Sarah Frances Conibear, of West Country Nurseries in Devon

What you need to know:
  • 1 x Lupin 'Terracotta'
  • Plant Type: Hardy Perennial whose foliage will die down over winter to reappear in Spring
  • Flowers: Tall terracotta orange from late Spring to late Autumn
  • Approx Height after 4 years: Approx. 90cm
  • Approx Width after 4 years: Approx. 60cm
  • Position: Sun or partial shade
  • Soil Type: Any soil but not very wet
  • Hardiness: Fully hardy

Caring for your plant:
  • Water well until established and during hot weather
  • Little or no aftercare needed. Lupins will always benefit from a good Autumn and Spring mulch with manure or homemade compost. We also recommend an annual application of a good all round fertiliser
  • Deadhead regularly to encourage repeat flowering
