- Sow: March to May & August to October

- Indoors Sowing Guide: Sow indoors for surest results, in trays of compost. Cover very lightly with fine soil. Water well and place on a warm windowsill. A temperature of approx. 20oC (68oF) is ideal. Seedlings appear in 14-42 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm (2") apart to further trays when large enough to handle. (Always handle by the leaf, never by the stem.) Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out 25cm (10") apart.
