- Sowing Instructions: Pre-chilling the seed before sowing by mixing it with a little damp compost, sealing it in a polythene bag and placing it in the fridge (not freezer) for 4 weeks can often help hasten germination. Sow from late winter to early summer in John Innes Seed Compost just covering the seed with compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 20-30 days at 21-24C (70-75F).
- Growing Information: Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm (3in) pots. Later plant out 2m (6ft) apart into any reasonable soil in full sun.
- To Keep To A Manageable Size Prune Back Each Spring All Previous Years Growth To 2-3In Of Old Wood.
