Delicious Carrot Tendersnax from Thompson & Morgan - ideal for juicing, eating raw or cooked Read more
Why we love it:
  • Carrot Tendersnax is an early maturity sister line to Sugarsnax producing slightly tapered, 13-15cm (5-6in) blunt ended, smooth, rich orange roots
  • These seeds from Thompson & Morgan will produce carrots with an outstanding juicy and tender sweet flavour
  • They are delicious eaten raw in salads, used for juicing or as a cooked vegetable
  • Carrots are packed with Vitamin A and most kids love them so are ideal for introducing toddlers to veg. Interestingly as the carrots cook nutrient levels increase, except when overcooked. They should still retain a little bite

    What you need to know:
  • 1 x pack of Carrot Tendersnax Hybrid seeds
  • Each pack contains approx 250 seeds
  • Sowing instructions: sow in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny, spot spring to mid summer in drills 1cm (½in) deep, spaced 30cm (12in) apart
  • Can be sown January to February in containers under protection/frames for earliest roots
  • Carrots prefer a deep, rich well drained soil which does not contain fresh manure
  • As soon as the seedlings are large enough to handle, start thinning them out so that they are finally 10cm (4in) apart
  • Harvest Summer/Autumn
