Yellow & Apricot

Sunshine yellow and fruity apricot never fail to cheer and plants with summer flowers in these colours create harmonious contrasts. Yellow plants compliment blues and purples, while soft apricot plants can be combined with flowers in virtually any colour, including hot pink, orange and even terracotta red.

Peach, Orange & Coral

For a dazzling tropical colour scheme, choose shades of orange, coral and deep peach. These colours are often seen on late-summer flowering plants like dahlia, helenium and canna, as well as pretty pot-fillers like calibrachoa and begonia. For contrast, add an indigo agapanthus or purple salvia.

Pink, Red and Wine

Pink flowering plants are incredibly versatile because they perfectly partner almost every other colour. Cooler shades of lilac-pink and shell-pink create a soft dreamy effect, while raspberry-pink and cerise ‘pop’ as part of a hot colour scheme. For added drama, colour-clash with shades of scarlet and orange.

Lilac, Blue and Purple

Cool colours are perfect for borders and pots located in dappled shade. Add a few white or pale-blue-flowered plants for contrast or introduce shades of pink for a more romantic cottage garden effect. Blue and purple flowers, like lavender and buddleia are particularly attractive to pollinating insects like bees and butterflies.
