We have an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager (maternity cover) to join our Home & Lifestyle team at our Wychbold garden centre.
 
We are seeking a strong people person, who has exceptional retail experience, to support our Home & Lifestyle Manager with the smooth day to day running of the Home & Lifestyle department.
 
Duties include:
  • Assisting the Manager to ensure sales targets are met and shrinkage is managed.
  • Ensuring all price information is displayed, legal and up to date.
  • Leading the team to ensure they exercise their responsibilities in full.
  • Ensure all stock systems and procedures are carried out correctly to maintain stock accuracy. Communicate to the Manager any stock availability, date, rotation, or storage issues.
 The successful candidate will have:
  • Retail sales experience.
  • Experience of effectively leading, managing and motivating a team and individuals. Preferably in a retail setting.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to resolve customer queries.
  • Ability to encourage the team to seek and/or implement improvement ideas and plans.
 
This is a full time maternity cover role for approximately 12 months. 
 
Working an average 39.5 hours per week on a 2 week rota. This involves working 4 weekdays plus every alternate weekend (you would work 4 days one week and have one weekday plus the weekend off, then you work 6 days the following week, including both weekend days).
 
The role is based at our store in Wychbold and so you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
