We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chef to join our Event/Restaurant team at our Wychbold garden centre.
The role involves producing a range of menu items from scratch using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. We can serve hot breakfasts and lunches to order plus hot snacks throughout the day or a range of quality hot food our Christmas event – Enchanted Gardens
You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and Restaurant and Event Manager to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen whether it be in the event or the main kitchen working in a hands-on capacity, setting the pace and food quality standards.
This is a part-time fixed-term position from 10th November until 4th January, working on average 32 hours per week.
Ideally 3-9pm Wednesday to Sunday (Can be flexible on dates/times for the right candidate)
Duties include :
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard, following recipes and portion sizes.
- Work quickly during busy periods while keeping quality consistent.
- Adapt to different menus, service styles, and event locations.
Food Safety, Hygiene & Allergen Awareness
- Keep work areas clean and follow all food safety regulations.
- Maintain strong allergen awareness, ensuring safe preparation and clear communication of allergen information.
- Prevent cross-contamination by following correct storage and preparation procedures.
Stock & Deliveries
- Monitor stock levels and assist with deliveries.
- Rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with colleagues to keep service smooth.
- Share information clearly during busy shifts to avoid delays or errors.
The role is based at our store in Wychbold and so you must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
