Our much-loved Enchanted Gardens festive event returns this November with a magical new theme: “Oz.” No Oz experience would be complete without some of its most iconic and recognisable characters, so we’re excited to recruit performers to bring Dorothy and the Good Witch to life. The event officially opens on 20th November 2025 and runs until 3rd January 2026, with inductions and training starting the week commencing 10th November.
As one of our character performers, you’ll be based outdoors along our enchanting light trail and will bring every aspect of your character to life. You’ll perform, interact, and improvise with visitors, creating magical moments filled with festive cheer and wonder. This live performance role requires strong acting skills, a vibrant personality, and the ability to stay in character throughout your shifts.
We’re looking for confident and outgoing individuals who are comfortable engaging with families and children, able to think on their feet, and eager to help create a truly immersive and memorable experience. Previous acting or performance experience is essential, and a love for storytelling and Christmas spirit is a must. You’ll need to be physically prepared for working outdoors in winter, maintaining energy and enthusiasm throughout your shift.
Shifts are during evenings, including both weekdays and weekends. Start times typically begin from 4pm, with shift lengths varying between 4 and 6 hours. Some shifts may finish as late as 10pm, so please consider your travel arrangements before applying.
