ARE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS EXPENSIVE TO RUN?

A simple answer is no... if you use LED Christmas lights it's surprisingly inexpensive to do so.

With the extra concern of energy bills this winter, some of you may be starting to think more about if you can afford to decorate your homes with the usual festive spirit. We thought it would be a good idea to bring you some straightforward facts on how it actually may not be as daunting as you would first assume.

How much will it actually cost you? (If used for 8 hours a day for 30 days)

  • 200 LED set  - 20p for 30 days

  • 500 LED Set - 30p for 30 days

  • 1000 LED Set - 49p for 30 days

  • 1500 LED Set - 74p for 30 days

In perspective, the most LEDs on an artificial tree we sell is 800, so that would cost around 40p for 30 days. Apart from the artificial tree with 800 LEDs, our range of artificial trees mainly ranges from as little as 200 LEDs to 600 LEDs.

What about LED lit figures?

Some of our most impressive outdoor lit figures, while large in size, only have a sensible number of LEDs. For example, the 1.5m leaping stag pictured above only has 300 LEDs; approximately 25p to run for 30 days.

Fun fact - If you have your lights on the flash setting it actually uses less energy!

(All of these figures will vary slightly depending on your electricity cost)
