Description

Why we love it:

Bred by master clematis breeder, Raymond Evison, Rebecca really is as rich a red as you could hope to find in the garden. Place it in a hot sunny location and the red keeps getting darker and richer

What you need to know:

Plant Type: Fully Hardy Deciduous Climber that drops its leaves in winter

Flowers: Deep velvety red flowers (12cm diameter) from late spring to early summer and again from later summer to early autumn

Approx Height after 4 years: 2.5m (8ft)

Position: Any aspect, but best out of exposed windy spots. Clematis should be planted where the root system is in shade especially from the midday sun

Soil Type: Will tolerate most soil types

Caring for your plant:

Pruning: Gather up all the stems 30cm above the ground and cut off everything above in late Winter/early Spring
