Beautifully decorated Christmas Tree in Reds and Golds

DRESS YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE

Simple ideas to set the best look for your home this Christmas with help from Webbs.

From narrow and pencil-shaped artificial Christmas trees to leafy traditional trees such as the Weeping Spruce, here  at Webbs we offer a wide range of artificial Christmas trees and Real Christmas trees, such as Fraser and Nordann Fir to suit every home.

To get started simply ensure the tree fits your home, measure the spot where you plan to display the tree and leave enough room to manoeuvre around it to decorate.Read more on the perks of having an artificial christmas tree.

Here are Webbs top tips on creating a perfectly decorated artificial and real Christmas tree this year (If Real please ignore step 1-Fluff).

1. FLUFF YOUR ARTIFIFCIAL CHRISTMAS TREE

  • Make sure that the space is clear and even. Then take your artificial christmas tree out of the box and make sure the tree will stand
  • If you’re putting up a pre-lit Christmas tree make sure a power supply is nearby, check it’s working
  • Make sure all the sections of the tree are in the right place, we suggest you don’t attach all sections at once. Once the bottom section is on, fluff as you go along and work your way up
  • If you're setting up a pre-lit artificial tree, turn on the Christmas lights to give you a good idea of the tree shape as you are plumping it up
  • Point the outer tips in different directions and fan them out from the centre

Webbs top tip - focus on fluffing every branch layer then move upwards. This will give good volume and make the tree more realistic.

3. PICK YOUR LIGHTS

We suggest about 100 LED lights for each foot of your tree, for example 500-600 LEDs on a 6ft Christmas Tree

  • Position the tree near a plug socket
  • Test your lights before decorating
  • Start wrapping from the top of your Christmas tree down, keep the lights on to check they are evenly spaced

Webbs top tip - it's more effective to hang your lights before you decorate.

4. ADD YOUR GARLANDS

Add garlands like tinsel, ribbons, pompoms and beads. We suggest 1.5 to 2 metres per foot of tree, for example 10 metres for a 6ft Christmas
tree.

  • Start from the top and work down your tree
  • Slowly increase the amount of garland between each wave as you work your way down your tree

Webbs top tip -Make sure to step back half way to make sure you have it evenly spread around your tree

5. TIME FOR BAUBLES AND DECORATIONS

We suggest 4-7 baubles per foot of tree for example 25 - 40 for a 6ft tree.

  • Pick your  favourite Christmas decorations and baubles and pop them in a prime position (top middle, we suggest)
  • Now hang your larger decorations and baubles, space evenly around the tree
  • Hang the small and medium sized decorations to fill the spaces and even it out.
  • To create the impression of depth, hang baubles on the inside of your tree

6. WHY NOT GO FOR CHOCOLATE DECORATIONS AND CANDY CANES?

  • Make sure to test the chocolate and candy canes by eating one or two!
  • Add the candy and chocolates to any empty spaces on the tree

7. FINALLY, TIME FOR A TREE TOPPER

Very important choice but finish off your tree with a tree topper - a star, angel, large bow or a snowflake are great additions depending on your theme.
