- Muscari latifolium is a very special grape hyacinth with unusual two tone flowers - the bottom two thirds of the flowers are coloured a very dark blue topped with a tuft of striking bright blue flowers
- Unlike the narrow strappy leaves of most muscaris, this one has broad, tapered leaves, along with a delicious fragrance, best appreciated in mass plantings
- In summer 2005 it was voted as the International Flower Bulb Centre's official bulb of the year and is still loved by many gardeners
- Although it is a small plant it looks wonderful planted in big drifts or with other spring flowers
- It's great for growing through grass where it naturalises well, or in containers
