Description
The Hanging Basket Sweet Pea! Just imagine the familiar fragrance of Sweet Peas growing in a basket near an open window, or hung outside the front door. New specially bred Sugar n Spice is a compact variety guaranteed to spice up your baskets and containers and its fragrance is every bit as sweet as its taller cousins. Sugar n Spice comes in a spectacular colour range, including bicolours, with blooms produced all along the short stems and from each leaf node, forming a ball of rich colour. The plants are naturally neat and compact so there is no need for pinching.
Sowing Instructions: Sow October indoors, or March to April outdoors, at 20-25C (68-77F) on the surface of a free draining, damp seed compost, 3 seeds per 7.5cm (3 inch) pot. Cover with a layer of compost 1cm (½ inch) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag until after germination which takes 10-21 days. Spring sowings can be sown outdoors, 2.5cm (1 inches) deep in drills 7.5cm (3 inches) apart.
