T&M is proud to bring you the first ever star-shaped petunia from seed. A white version of this uniquely-shaped flower was originally sent to us by a customer, Edward Cragen from Kent in 1998. After 10 years of breeding and many generations of selection, the perfect star shape was obtained as well as this fabulous range of colours. ‘Sparklers’ also differs from a typical petunia in that its leaves are pointed rather than rounded. What you need to know:

1 x Thompson & Morgan Petunia Sparklers
Number of Seeds: 30
Eventual Plant Height: Up To 30cm (11.8in)
Eventual Plant Spread: Up To 35cm (13.8in)
Hardiness & Longevity: Half hardy Annual
Ideal For: Patio
Position In: Full Sun
Sowing Months: February-April
Flowering Months: June to October
Sowing Instructions: Sow the seed onto the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed compost. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag at a temperature of 20-30C (66-68F) until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days.
Growing Information: Transplant, when large enough to handle, into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Gradually acclimatise to cooler conditions for a few days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart in borders or containers.
