- An Amaryllis Ruby Star Indoor Growing Kit is a superb gift idea, even for a novice gardener as it's so easy and fulfilling to grow
- However, it's also perfect for a keen gardener, growing as it does in the winter months and giving the recipient something to nurture indoors when there's little to be done outside
- Ruby Star is a really exquisite and delicate variety in a deep shade of ruby red accented with lighter stripes along the petal centres
- The petals are more pointed and delicate than many amaryllis
- Once planted up, the amaryllis will flower within 6 to 8 weeks, and the kit contains everything that's required - a bulb, specially formulated compost and a pot
